Milwaukee headquartered motorbike manufacturer unveiled the introduction of LiveWire within next year. Harley Davidson is all set to debut its first production-spec electric motorcycle by mid-2019. The company’s quarter statement states that “Company is back on its track and will surely meet its deadlines”. It is also iterated that company will now invest more aggressively in electric motorcycle technology.

Matt Levatich- CEO of Harley Davidson quoted statements that states: Electric motorcycle market is very infancy today, but we have complete faith over premium Harley electric bike that will participate in sports globally in near future and drive excitement. Further, we expand our EV commitments and capabilities; we get even more electrified about the role that this electric Harley-Davidson will play in making our business.

It was a real surprise by Harley-Davidson Company, synonymous with chrome-laden V-Twins, revealed its plan of making an electric two-wheeler motorbike. It is the same project that was showcased in 2014 “Live Wire”. Harley Davidson manages to offer free test rides of this Live Wire project. Even the concept of Harley-Davidson LiveWire was used by Hollywood industry in its movie “Avengers”. If you have seen the movie there is a scene where a black widow drops out of a jet fighter bottom and ride Harley-Davidson LiveWire.

Since many years, the company is updating and refining its prototype, but now future where iconic ‘thump’ will make its way for silent whirring. Although the concept is still under construction, now Traditional Harley doesn’t seem to be so far.

The live-wire is one of those major manufacturers that commit to producing an electric two-wheel vehicle. Harley-Davidson looks futuristic: LED headlights and taillights, exposed chassis and fully digital instrument console reaffirm its launch. Till date, KTM was the only manufacturer that has introduced its electric version of a production model, although BMW also has launched an electric scooter.

Powering Harley-Davidson it includes three phase induction motor, which further produces 71Nm of torque and 75PS of power. Riding position look is sportier than any other traditional bike. The major backlog that the company has faced till date is its range of the battery. Previous models of Harley were able to cover a distance of 80km in a single battery. But with this 2019 new model, everyone is expected that the issue is now resolved. With this inevitable discovery, many bikers are looking forward to expanding their portfolios.
